And hey, there's no saying you can't serve this at a Mother's Day brunch. Just tread lightly. These bad boys are strong.
Handful fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
2 ounces good quality bourbon
1/2 ounce simple syrup*
Gently muddle mint leaves in a cocktail glass. Add bourbon and simple syrup and stir. Fill the glass with crushed ice, then garnish with additional mint and serve.
*Simple syrup is just that: simple. In a saucepan, simmer equal parts water and sugar, stirring, for about 10 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved and mixture has thickened slightly. Let cool.
And off to the races we go. Cheers!
