Today we're going to delve into the world of color fanatic Alessandra Branca. Branca is an Italian-born designer, and has a firm here in the US. This woman is a pro at over-the-top, colorful design that always manages to stay unfussy and accessible.
These first two shots are from the room she designed at Kips Bay Showhouse, which I visited back in June. My feelings are the same as they were then - while red isn't really my color, I appreciate how it's used here. I still need a kindly benefactor to donate that Robert Polidori photograph that hangs above the mantel to the Scotch and Nonsense Foundation for the Extravagantly Inclined and Budgetly Limited (SNFEIB, for short). Donations are accepted in the forms of artwork, wallpaper, and leather furniture.
Do I spy brown bag art?
While she's great with color, she also does a lovely job with a more restrained color palette.
And, of course, of the top exuberance.
Welcome! I'm Arielle, and this is Scotch & Nonsense. Whether you've come for the home projects, the recipes, or the cocktails, I'm thrilled you're here and I hope you'll stay a bit.
