Sometimes I forget that I haven't shown you much of the rest of our house. The library, dining room, and living room all get plenty of play, but the bedrooms, not so much. (And the kitchen, well. Don't hold your breath.) Let's change that. Ready to take a look?
I don't know what it is about cantaloupe. Most of the year I have no interest in it, but come summer I cannot get enough. It may have even replaced watermelon as my favorite summer fruit. Since it's the weekend (phew), I figured it's as good a time as any to turn this snack into a cocktail.
Heavens to Betsy, it is hot. I'm already a bit of an ice cream fiend, and this week is only serving to further my addiction. I love a trip to Bev's (our local ice cream shop) or TCBY (white chocolate macadamia FTW), but homemade is a delicious and surprisingly easy way to go. I love being in control of the ingredients and flavor combinations I use. Don't worry if you don't have an ice cream maker - not all of these recipes require one. That said, I use my ice cream maker all the time, and if you keep the bowl in the freezer you can be ready to throw together homemade ice cream at a moments notice.
Hello there! I took an impromptu vacation from the blog last week, and now I'm dipping my toe back into writing. I've got no excuse for the absence except that it's summer, and my computer screen isn't exactly tempting me at the moment. However! I've got some new (to me) pieces that I just had to share. I hope you're not sick of rattan or burl wood yet!
You guys. I am thrilled to share a new series with you today. Risk-taking in design is a passion of mine. It's the reason I started this blog. I love to see people expand their horizons and step out of the Pinterest-approved comfort zone to try something personal maybe a bit weird. It's scary, yes, but it can be so rewarding. So I'm getting together with a group of fearless and fabulous women to launch #fearlesshome. We're sharing the design decisions that maybe made us a smidge nervous, but ended up being totally worth it. And we want to see what you're up to!
Today I'm sharing a few of my favorite fearless looks from the other hosts in this series. On the first Wednesday of every month, we'll each share our favorites from the #fearlesshome tag on Instagram, so make sure to follow along and show us what you've got!
Hello! I hope you all had a delightful holiday weekend. Ours was great right up until last night, which we spent at the emergency vet with Hugo (the 65-lb doofus on the right who thinks he can fit into that club chair). He decided it would be great fun to eat a corn cob. I hope the ensuing unpleasantness at the vet has cured him of that particular craving from now on.
All of which is to say that my post is a bit later than usual today, but I'm excited to share this room tour with you. Back in the winter we played Marry, Kill, or What to Effing Do With It in here, and since then I've made some changes. It's not done (I'm not sure I'm ever done with a room), but it's at a good resting point. Who's ready to jump in?
Welcome! I'm Arielle, and this is Scotch & Nonsense. Whether you've come for the home projects, the recipes, or the cocktails, I'm thrilled you're here and I hope you'll stay a bit.
