A little before and after action today. The before: a contractor grade bathroom better suited to an office building. A very sad office building. The after: a quick fix for my impatient self to hold us over until we have the time and money to invest in some real improvements to our upstairs bathroom.
In addition to being an eyesore, this shower door has the added benefit of being rusty and improperly installed. Ideal for getting water all over the floor. The lovely vinyl floor.
For when you want the towel rack hardware without the pesky towel rack.
Our vanity. Think it's vintage?
And now for the after. The shower door was the first thing to go. Next, our crusade against beige continued with a couple coats of Hale Navy. Oh, and we decided against the minimalist look and added a towel rack.
We found a small shelf that fit in the small space between the vanity and the wall, so it feels a little less sparse.
These fixes were done in a day, and were pretty inexpensive. The vanity, faucet, and floor are living with us for the moment, until we have the energy for a bit more work. In the meantime, I'm relieved to have a bathroom that feels a little less corporate.
